Digistamps4Joy is closing down!

To all our fabulous blog followers and digistamp friends.....

Sadly I had to make a very difficult decision today to close the Digistamps4Joy shop - after 9 wonderful years. This has been brewing on my mind for a while already, but I kept putting it off in the hope something would change.

My reasons are:

1. Sales are seriously  down, even with all the extra sponsorships and advertising I put in place in 2018. The income I receive barely covers the costs of running the shop (hosting, domain, InLinkz, bank fees, PayPal fees etc). This means I do all the work every month basically for no profit at all.
2. Both the other artist (Jen) and I have had a difficult 2018, and we struggled to find time to draw new exciting images. Pinterest has also killed a lot of digistamp shops with all the sharing and "free" digistamps.
3. I need to focus on a new stage of my life since my recent retirement - whatever that will be.

This means that the January challenge will end 31/1/2019 and will be the last challenge. I will however still give out the prizes to the January winners, so please enter for January.

That was the bad news ... now for some really good news ... the prices of ALL the digistamps in the shop have been reduced by 50% - YES HALF PRICE. So now is the time to grab them, because they will all be gone after 31/1/2019!

On behalf of past and current Design Team members, artists, and myself, we thank you sincerely for all your support and blog entries! We have loved every entry submitted, and we will miss your participation and friendship.

May the Lord bless you all, and keep you safe in 2019.

Love and warm hugs,

  1. So sad Margaret. Bless you in your future endeavours.

  2. Margy, I am so sorry to hear this. But it sounds like the best option for you. Working so hard and not making any money is just not fair. And... I've seen several other digi businesses suffer due to Pinterest postings. That is wrong on so many levels. Know that your talent was very appreciated by so many of us. You will be missed.

  3. Oh no, I'm sad to read this news. It sounds like you have given it a lot of thought and have made the best decision based on the circumstances. I wish you all the best with your future plans. Remember... When one door closes, another one opens.

  4. I am so sad but I understand. I have enjoyed being on the design team since 2014 and I thank you and Jen for all your images. I wish you all the best.

  5. Sorry to read your post, best wishes to you and your team for the future x

  6. Wishing you all the best for future directions. Thanks for your efforts and inspiration. CarolG
