Digistamps4Joy is proud to 'show off' the talents of our amazing Design Team! All the challenges from now until January 2014 will be presented by a DT member, and the first one is by DESIRE.
My name is Desíre Fourie, all the way from sunny Johannesburg, and I am delighted to present my challenge to you
PAPER FOLDED EMBELLISHMENT
Create your own embellishment by folding a piece of paper.
My passion in crafting is creating affordable embellishments from paper off cuts, for my crafting projects. Today I am showing you an interesting way to create double pinwheel embellishments with scalloped square punches. For my card I used a 2” scalloped square punch.
(Note: DS4J also has a pinwheel template in the FREEBIES section of the STORE
Challenge #70 runs from 26 June - 9 July 2013

TUTORIAL FOR DOUBLE PINWHEELS
Make a pencil mark in the centre of each square. Cut halfway towards the middle point from each corner.
Then fold each corner towards the middle, without making a clear folding line. Ensure that all the squares’ corners are folded in the same order and direction.
Mount two different coloured folded scalloped squares on top of each other, as follows and attach a brad to the centre of each pinwheel.
... and here is a centre step card (my favourite card design) on which I have used the double pinwheel embellishments.
I have used the following gorgeous images from DigiStamps4Joy:
Trendy Two and Shop Front
The images were coloured with H2O water colour pencils and the skin tones with Copics. For more detailed views please visit my BLOG. The sentiment is a freebie from Create with TLC
